Description

NRHE: date given as 1945 and 1949. Burial revealed during stone quarrying south west of Acton and north west of Blacklands. Described as an extended skeleton lying in reddish-brown clay about 1ft below the surface, and in a stone cist. One small sherd of Middle Bronze Age pottery was found near the feet. The burial was thought most likely to be Romano-British.
