Cottage, and attached former brewery. c.Late C18. Chalk block (north gable end) and rubble stone walls. Thatch roof. Brick stacks at left hand gable, and C20 at right hand gable. 2 storeys. 2 windows, 3-light wooden casements in original pegged wooden frames. Leaded lights. Centre opening lights, cast-iron. Wooden lintels over ground floor. Front door at right hand, flush-panelled with a wooden frame, C19. Very simple trellis-porch. Attached brewery at right hand. Coursed rubble stone walls. Slate roof, hipped at right hand. 2 storeys. 3 windows, 2- and 3-light wooden casements with lead lights. Wooden cills and stone lintels. Door, plank and 2-leaf at right hand. Stone lintel. 2-leaf loft door over. Brewing machinery intact within, C19. C J Bailey, The Bride Valley (1982) p 54.
