Description

1. TRINITY STREET 5191 (East Side) No 3 SY 6990 7/108 8.5.50. II* 2. Mid C18. 5 window light-red brick front, 2 storeys, attic and cellar. Slate roof. Stone doorway has flanking panelled pilasters, voluted console brackets and segmental pediment. Wood cornice with fluted frieze. Parapet. Gables with parapets at each end. Forecourt has brick walls, good entrance steps, contemporary iron scrapers. door with 6 fielded panels and fanlight. Interior. Ground floor rooms have wainscotting throughout. Best of these has chimneypiece and overmantel of very high quality: acanthus-moulded surround to fireplace: pulvinated bay leaf frieze with central die with floral swags: dentilled cornice to mantel shelf. Shouldered architrave to over mantel with foliate corbels below, drapery swags at sides, fret pattern within, and cable moulding to fielded central panel. Staircase has moulded handrail ramped to fluted columnar newels: 3 balusters per step, 1 fluted and 1 twisted: cut ornament to open string: opposite is fielded panelling to dado level.
