BEAMINSTER CHURCH STREET ST 4701/4801 (SOUTH SIDE) 12-6-53 7/34 Strode Room, (formerly listed as Almshouses) GV II
Parish Rooms, formerly Almshouses. Dated 1630. Coursed rubble-stone walls. Slate roof with stone gable-copings. C20 chimney at West gable. One storey, 4 windows, 3-light and 2-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions. Continuous label over, returned. Doorway with renewed Tudor-arch head, and moulded jambs. Stone Tablet with midillion-framing, inscribed: GODS: HOVSE SIT HONOS TRINO DEO ANNO DOM 1630, on south wall left of centre.
