ST 6601 CERNE ABBAS LONG STREET, (south side)
11/111 Nos. 40 and 42 (formerly 26.1.56 listed as No 127) GV II
Two attached cottages, different builds. Late C18 to early C19. Brick walls, No.40 painted white. Galvanised iron (No. 40) and asbestos slate roof, (No. 42). C20 brick stack at right gable of No.42. 2 storeys (No. 40, and 3 storeys (No. 42). Windows: No. 40 has two 2-light wooden casements, C20. Gauged brickwork painted over. Blocked window, centre upper. No. 42: one window wide; ground floor has a square bay with sash window. First floor has a C20 canted bays 2, 3, 2, (sashes). Sash to top floor, with thin glazing-bars, C19. Doors: No. 40, front door at centre, C20. No. 42: left of centre, flush-panels and glazed, C20. Moulded architrave and cornice in wood.
