Description

SY 78 SW POXWELL - 9/53 Nos. 1 and 2 (formerly listed as Pair of Cottages NE of 26.1.56 Village Pump) GV II Pair of semi detached cottages. 1843. Dressed limestone walls. Thatch roof with gable ends and two thatch outshuts at rear. Stone staoks at gable ends. 1½ storeys. 4 windows in total, regular fenestration, 2 light wood casements with glazing-bars, wood cills. Ashlar stone voussoirs to ground floor, eyebrow dormers above. Front doors are placed on gable ends. No. 2 has a stone porch with gabled clay tile roof, C20. Interior: each dwelling has a living kitchen with small pantry and staircase, partitioned off at the back, and a projecting outhouse. Part of group all built by John T.Trenchard. (R.C.H.M.
