Detached Public-House. Early-mid C17, with possible earlier cove. Rubble-stone walls, rendered and painted. Thatch roof with gable ends and stone gable-copings. Rendered stacks at left hand gable, ridge right of centre, right hand gable. 1½ storeys. 4 windows, irregular fenestration: ground floor has a sash window, then wooden mullion-and-transom windows with moulded wood cornices over each, of 4 lights, 2 lights and 4 lights. 3-light wood casements over, as eyebrow dormers. Doors: plank door, C20, towards left hand end, plank-and-muntin front door at centre, C20. Back wall has 3-light and 4-light casements with lead lights. (RCHM. Dorset I, p.62 (9))
