Description
NORTHBROOK ROAD 1. 5190 Memorial to John Mowlem in the Town Cemetery SZ 0278 NE 5/129 II
2. Granite memorial, on a square base of rock-faced ashlar, surmounted by a square spire set on 4 steps. Inscriptions on the 4 faces are:- 1. John Mowlem, March 8, 1868, aged 79 years; 2. John Mowlem; 3. Susannah his wife, November 11, 1849, aged 61 years; 4. John Mowlem's Vault. Below this is inscribed:- "H Bisson, Vale, Guernsey". Listed for its historic interest. Note: The Cemetery, now closed, contains a large number of C19 headstones, mostly of Portland Stone.
