Pair of linked silage towers. 1917. MacDonald Gill in association with Halsey Ricardo for Sir Ernest Debenham's model dairy farm. Added close to the south east corner of the dairy farm buildings (q.v.). Reinforced concrete, tile and brick. Two closely set circular towers of equal height, each of 6 concrete drums alterna- ting with narrow tile course bands; The tallest base drum of each has an offset plinth, 3 drums above of equal height and 2 shallow drums at top. A brick-on-edge cornice to each tower progressively corbelled in each of 5 courses from circular to octagonal plan which supported a pyramidal timber roof with crowning metal apex vent with a ball knop. A linking passage between the towers is carried over a semi-circular arch which springs from the lowest tile course band in the towers. Wall of passage above is pierced by a circular opening. The brick cornice to the passage wall links with the tower cornices. The roofs have been removed. Listed for group value with the dairy farm buildings only.
