No. 7 Elizabeth Cottage

Cottage. C17 origin. Walls part stone, part brick, part plastered, thatched roof, brick stack. One storey and attic. Originally of simple two-room plan. Single-storey brick extension on east, with tiled roof. Elevation to road has on ground floor, one horizontally sliding sash window and one casement - both with glazing bars and shutters. West wall, of C17 brick, has two terra cotta plaques, showing Queen Anne Boleyn and her emblem, a falcon. Rear wall has ledged door in a thatched porch. Ground floor has one horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars. Attic has one half-dormer with horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. Main ground floor room has large open fireplace with timber lintel - restored. Remains of jointed cruck roof. RCHM Monument 11.
