SY 9777 WORTH MATRAVERS WORTH MATRAVERS VILLAGE 9/125 Two headstones in churchyard, to Benjamin and Elizabeth Jesty. 12 m north of Church of Saint Nicholas - II Two headstones. One to Benjamin Jesty, died 1816, the other to his wife Elizabeth, died 1824 - the latter with carvings of cherubs . Headstone to Benjamin Jesty inscribed "The first person known that introduced the Cow Pox by innoculation" (ie pre-dating the work of Edward Jenner). Included primarily for historic interest.
