Detached cottage. C17 origin, enlarged - probably in C18. Walls part brick, part plastered cob. Thatched roof. Brick stacks. Original section has a 2-room plan with cross-passage. Extra room added at south end. C18. One storey and attics. Ground floor has ledged door with glass panel, under pentice with stone slate roof. Four casement windows with glazing bars, some with cast iron lights. One of these replaces a former door - leading to the former cross-passage. Attic has two half-dormers with casements - one with cast iron lights. Also one casement under eaves. Internally, one beam in ground floor ceiling shows traces of a vanished partition - from the cross-passage. Chimney stack at north end has large open fireplace. RCHM Monument 22.
