CORFE CASTLE THE SQUARE SY 96 82 7/119 Village Cross, including Pump 20.11.59 GV II
Cross, in centre of Square. Erected 1897, probably an earlier base. Podium of 4 steps. Cross with octagonal tapered shaft with foliated cross. Inscriptions on each face of base - "VR 1837-1897". "Erected on the steps of the Ancient Market Cross". "This Cross was erected to commemorate the 60th year of the reign of Queen Victoria". Pump on east side, timber cased, with lead spout. Trough filled solid.
