CORFE CASTLE EAST STREET (West side) SY 96 81 8/69 No. 80 (Spinning Dale) (formerly listed as Down View) 20.11.59 GV II
Cottage in terrace. Probably early C17. Rubble stone walls, thatched roof, brick stack at right end. One storey and attic. C20 oak ledged door under brick arch. Ground floor has 3 casements under brick arches - one in former doorway. Attic has two 1/2 dormers, one with casements, one with horizontally sliding sashes, both with glazing bars. Possibly of open-hall origin, - the dormers appear insertions. (RCHM, Monument 70. Dorset. Vol. II).
