House, now restaurant and office. Late C16-early C17, refronted C18, altered C19. Roughcast with coursed rubble rear wing, party wall stacks and a tiled roof. L-plan including rear left-hand wing. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Parapeted facade with angled brick cornice, a keyed round-arched left-of-centre doorway with mid C20 engaged fluted timber pilasters to an open pediment, painted radial fanlight and C18 six-panel door, to the right a late C20 shop front with 3 plate-glass windows and fascia, and left-hand 6/6-pane sash; first-floor windows with cambered heads to 3/6-pane sashes. Reported to retain chamfered stone door jambs and a stone mullion window with moulded label and square stop on the SW wall. INTERIOR contains a 7-bay roof with cambered tie beams and collars, and wide attic elm floor boards; RCHME reports wall brackets, possibly from an earlier timber-framed structure. A large brick stack between Nos 30 & 32. HISTORICAL NOTE: roof carries over to No.32 (qv), with which it shares a similar doorway and was probably originally one. (RCHME: County of Dorset (South East): London: 1970-: 223).
