5/83 Peppercorn Cottage
II
Detached cottage. Late C17-early C18 origin, extended at right end and at rear in C20. Brick walls, - facing on cob, hipped thatched roof, one brick stack at left end and one left of centre. One storey and attic. At right end, ledged door in porch with hipped catslide roof. Glazed door near left end. Ground floor has 4 casements with glazing bars. Attic has 3 dormers with similar casements. Internally, central stack now with 'through' fireplaces - original lintels. Timber framed partition on ground floor. Several exposed ceiling beams. Considerably repaired c1980, but some original roof trusses survive.
