Description
1. 5193 PAMPHILL BLANDFORD ROAD (South-west Side) Elm Grove ST 90 SE 3/30 21.12.82 II 2. Probably C18 origin, enlarged and altered in C19. Plastered walls, slate roofs, brick stacks. Hair block two-storeyed, later parts part two-storeyed and part single-storeyed. Original building has a rectangular double-pile plan with central entrance. Later rear extension, contains kitchens etc. Main (east) elevation has part-glazed panelled door in classical surround with flat hood on brackets and reeded pilasters. Ground floor has two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. First floor has three similar windows. Side (south) elevation has, on ground floor, canted bay window with double-hung sashes with glazing bars, and moulded cornice. One double-hung sash window with glazing bars above this. Other windows in this elevation are casements. Internally, staircase has square balusters and wreathed handrails - probably C19. RCHM Monument 6.
