HAMPRESTON SZ 09 NE HAM LANE, HAMPRESTON (North) 12/25 Little Moors Farmhouse - II* House. c1700, c1800 and mid C19. Brick walls of Flemish bond with blue headers, 1st floor band, red rubbed flat arches, front (remodelled) rendered. Steep hipped tile roof, hipped dormers. Symmetrical south front elevation of two storeys and attic, two windows. Upper sashes in reveals, lower wider sashes in exposed frames, casements to the mid C19 dormers. Mid C19 gabled brick porch with arched entrance, and recessed 6-panelled (2 top glazed) door. The rear (originally front) elevation is symmetrical of five windows, with a single storeyed C19 wing, extending forward at the west side. Upper sashes in exposed frames (the two outer blank), two ground floor casements (one in original opening). Central doorway with canopy on carved brackets, solid frame, enclosing coupled fan light and 6-panelled (2 top glazed) door. Symmetrical, side elevations of two windows, some with casements, others blank. There is a fine dog-leg staircase with massive turned balusters, moulded rails and newel posts with ball-finials. One room is completely panelled (with bolection mouldings) and most door-frames remain, with some 10-panelled doors. A virtually unaltered building. RCHM
