Description

1. 5186 WALLISDOWN ROAD (North Side) White Farmhouse SZ O793 10/47 4.8.72. II GV 2. Picturesque farmhouse, circa 1850 ground floor and semi-attic, brickwork now painted. Asymmetrical T plan, with stem of T as slightly lower wing to south, with single tall barred brick chimney set diagonally on ridge, south wing roof of ornamental scalloped tiles in bands alternating with ordinary tiles. Gabled brick porch in south-west angle with 4-centred relieving arch over 2-light cusped window to south. Main east-west roof all of scalloped tiles, except bands of oridinary tiles top and bottom, central stucco chimney on ridge with only one short stack surviving. Mullioned casements, diamond lattice glazing, 3 lights with transom on ground floor, 2 lights on 1st. Overhanging eaves and plain bargeboards. Canted bay with hipped roof to ground floor of east gable, which is carried down low as lean-to to north, another hipped canted bay set diagonally in angle of lean-to to north-west.
