Description

1. 5186 THROOP ROAD (South Side) The Malthouse SZ 1095 24/230 II GV 2. Long low red brick outbuilding of Stour View, early Cl9, formerly malthouse and factory for ships' biscuits, now used as Small Bore Rifle Club. Ground floor with small segment-headed windows becomes basement as yard slopes up; stringcourse, with course of blue headers. Slate roof with slate-hung dormers. In basement at south end, big brick ovens, under curved vault with brick ribs. Attached barn to south, higher, has half-hipped gables. Stour View, The Malthouse and the Barn and Railing at Stour View, form a group. Listing NGR: SZ1088695963
