2. Includes No 9 (Curzon Club Casino), Yelverton Road. 4-storey stucco Baroque, 1882; built as Theatre Royal, converted into Town Hall 1887, converted back into theatre 1892. Ground floor remodelled (Tatler Cinema and Vogue Bingo). 3 upper floors, 4 windows wide, now painted sea-green, have giant fluted Corinthian pilasters supporting entablature. lst floor windows with triangular pediments on console brackets, 2nd flat-headed on consoles also consoles to sills. Small 2-storey extension to north (circular window, egg-and-dart cornice). Rear elevation in Yelverton Road (Curzon Club Casino), 3 storeys, red brick and stone dressings, 5 windows wide; windows (all bricked up) have Gibbsian voussoirs extended downwards as shoulders.
Nos 4 to 14 and No 16 (Tatler Cinema, and Vogue Bingo and Social Club) form a group.
