5186 GERVIS PLACE (North Side) Dingles (south frontage only of premises at Nos 14 to 24 Old Christchurch Road) (Formerly listed as Brights) II
4-storey iron facade of department store, circa 1005, 5 bays wide projecting over pavement on remodelled colonnade; 5th storey added recently. 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors fully glazed between Corinthian colonnettes of iron, apart from panelled upstands to sill level on 2nd am 3rd floors. 1st and 2nd floors have spandrels of openwork foliage patterns in iron. Facade returns to building line by whole bay of similar detail to east and west. Dingles, Anderson and McAuley, Gervis Hall (Hornes) and The Arcade (Nos 1 to 23A Consec)) and Nos 28 Old Church Road form a group.
