2. 1891-2, William Butterfield's last church, donated by the hymnologist Canon Twells. Coursed Purbeck rubble, Bath stone dressings. Nave with 2-light aisle windows, windowless clerestory zone, chancel with transeptal vestry (north) and organ chamber (with hipped roof, south). South porch roof also hipped, north porch gabled. West turret corbelled out from square buttress, octagonal belfry and short stone spire with scalloped stone 'tiling'. Interior (whitened circa 1930) has 4 bay arcades (westernmost shorter), with single-chamfered arches rising, without capitals, from chamfered square piers, chancel arch on corbels. Steep canted nave roof with scissor traces, cancel roof canted and celled. Reredos, stone and inlaid marble, with gabled centre and ends, cusped arches, stained glass in east window by Gibbs. Parclose screen to quasi-north chapel. Octagonal font on 8 pink stone columnettes (cover circa 1952). Twells memorial cross outside east end has gabled stone shaft with crockets.
