1. 1615 HIGH STREET (South Side) The Fruit Shop
ST 8622 2/57 II GV 2.
Adjoining King Alfred's kitchen and forming part of the same block. Corner house with 3-storey, 1-window rendered front with parapet to High Street. C18 core (see this from Park Walk). Wall of stone rubble facing Church Lane [This part is No 2 Church lane] with small shop front on ground floor at left hand end, and 1 sash window 4 panes wide at right hand end. Shop window and doorway flanked by panelled pilasters with fascia and moulded cornice over. Altered bowed shop window [fascia, only, now bowed] to High Street.
Nos 5 to 13 (odd), The Fruit Shop, Nos 17 and 19 form a group.
