1. 1615 BELL STREET (North Side) Nos 42 to 46 (even)
ST 8623 1/23 II GV 2.
C18 probably. Stone rubble or rough ashlar cottages. Casement windows with small panes. Nos 42 and 44 have gable-ends to road; the eaves level of No 42 has been raised and a slate roof added. 2 storeys to Nos 42 and 46; 3 to No 44. Nos 44 and 46 have thatched roofs. No 42 has 1 window above and 2 below, each flanking central doorway. No 44 has 1 window bay; 3 storeys. No 46 has 2 two-light windows above and 1 three-light window below. Plain wooden boarded door.
Nos 42 to 52A (even) form a group with No I Victoria Street and Nos 2 to 8 (even) Barton Hill.
