Description

ST 71 NE MARNHULL CARRAWAY LANE 4/99 Old Malt House 4.10.60 GV II House, probably early C18 origin with alterations at various later dates. Coursed rubble and brickwork, colourwashed. Tiled, gable- ended roof with end brick stacks. 2 storeys, irregular fenestration. To the right is a 3-light window with wooden dentil cornice. Next is canted bay. 3-light window left. Doorway has reeded architrave with angle paterae and a flat hood. Part-glazed door. Upper floor windows are C20 metal casements. The house was originally a part of the adjacent group of brewery buildings. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 156/7, no 25. Listing NGR: ST7798018203
