Description
MILTON ABBAS MILTON ABBAS (north-west side) No.1 (The Old Forge) including outbuildings on north and west.

Detached cottage. c1780. Plastered cob walls, hipped thatched roof, brick end stacks. 2 storeys. Ledged door with glass panel. Ground floor has 2 cross-pattern windows with lead lights. First floor has 3 casements with lead lights. Left of the house the former forge has walls of flint, brick and plastered cob, and hipped pantiled roof. Single-storey. Timber doors and shuttered window. This linked to a 2-storeyed outbuilding behind the house, with brick and flint walls and pantiled roof. Ledged doors, casements with glazing bars, and loft door. Outbuildings may be slightly later than the house.
