ST 7813 STURMINSTER NEWTON CHURCH LANE Group of 5 table tombs in St Mary's Church churchyard, south east of church.
9/128 G.V. II
5 table tombs, late C18 and C19. All of stone.
No 1 is 1 m east of the south trancept. It has a moulded plinth, pilaster corners with oval panels, panels with carved tablets and inscriptions, a fluted and moulded cornice and a shaped slab top.
The other 4 are simpler with pilaster corners (some damaged) and incised decoration and inscriptions.
No 2 is 8 m south east of the south trancept.
No 3 is adjacent to No 2 to the south.
No 4 is 2 m south east of the south chapel corner
No 5 is 12 m east of the north buttress of the chancel.
