Stable/dwelling range approximately 10 m south-west of Pope's Farmhouse (formerly listed as Outbuilding at Pope's Farm)
GV II*
Stable/dwelling building, C17. Coursed rubble and ashlar with gable-ended, tiled roof bearing stone coping to the left. Stone slate verge to rear. Rubble plinth. 2 storeys, approximately 5 bay irregular fenestration. Ground floor has 2-light hollow-chamfered stone mullioned windows. 2 doors have depressed 4-centred, roll-moulded heads with continuous jambs, that to the right having its left jamb rebuilt. A door to the left appears to have been formed from a former window. Above are 2 loft doors. The north and east walls have various 2 and 3-light stone mullioned windows, some blocked. North door similar to those of east facade. Internal features: blocked door suggests possible central cross-passage; 1st floor 4-centred head fireplace in square surround; southern end has wooden stable facilities; northern end has pegged wooden beams, probably for the manufacture of candles. An unusual building, the precise original function of which is uncertain.
