MILTON ABBAS MILTON ABBEY The Ruins
ST 70SE 2/143 II
Folly. Probably early C19. Built of ashlar-faced stone in Gothic style to represent the chancel and part of a transept of a church. Elevation facing the Abbey (the "last" front) has a central raised gable with battlemented parapet. This flanked by octagonal turrets with small pilasters at angles, and conical caps. Large pointed arched opening in centre - no evidence of tracery. Similar openings in other walls. In rather poor repair. RCHM. Monument 6. (Dorset. Vol.III)
