Description

ST 7813 STURMINSTER NEWTON BRIDGE STREET (EAST SIDE) Beech House 9/114 4.10.60 II House Cl7 with C18, C19 and C20 additions and modifications. Squared and coursed rubble walls with ashlar dressings. Slate roof with gable ends and rendered stone stacks. T-plan with C18 extension to the right which has been connected in turn to a former ancillary building. C19 addition to rear left. Projecting 2 storey and attic porch to front. 2 storeys with attic and cellars. Main range of 4 bays. All main windows are stone mullioned with chamfered jambs and mullions having casements with no glazing bars and square moulded stone labels The porch has 2-light square headed casements with no glazing bars. 3 dormers in attic with wooden casements. One central and 2 end stacks. To the right the former ancillary building presents a gable to the front and has C20 stone mullioned windows to match those of the original range. The connecting range has small wooden casements under segmental arches. Internally there are some exposed chamfered ceiling beams and there are some c 1800 doors and fittings.
