Description

ST 7813/ST 71 SE STURMINSTER NEWTON NEWTON (South Side) Barton Farmhouse 9/98, 4/98 4.10.60 G.V. II House, C17 or earlier. Whitewashed rubble and brick, thatched with gable ends. End brick stacks and stack to left of doorway. Single storey and attic, 4 window range. The ground floor has 2 3-light casements with glazing bars flanking a 6-panel door the upper 2 panels of which form integral lights. To the left is a blocked doorway with a small inserted casement. The upper floor has a jettied gable on wooden brackets under which is a 4-light casement with horizontal glazing bars. 2 other upper floor windows are 3-light casements under eyebrow dormers with surrounds of boards.
