Mid C19. 2 storeys and attic. 6 bays with windows in different planes.
Slate gabled roof; 6 segmental roofed dormers. Toothed stone cornices
at eaves and to 1st floor. Red brick front. Stone quoins articulating
each bay; stone dressings to windows and doorways. Segmental-headed windows;
keystones; no glazing bars. 2 round-headed stone doorways, left hand one
[No 27A] now converted into shop window. 2 large C19 shop fronts with
small canopied hoods on shaped brackets; plain fascias [altered in No 27],
each window flanked by panelled pilasters.
The Town Hall, Church of St Peter, The Mitre Inn and Nos 25 to 31 (odd)
form a group.
