Centre House
II
Coastguard station officer's house. Built in 1845 by the Customs. Stuccoed. Slate hipped roof with console brackets to the eaves. Rendered stacks over side walls.
PLAN: Double-depth plan with central entrance porch, and with single-storey outhouses on either side.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay south front. 16-pane sashes, centre first floor has 12 panes; ground floor replaced by casements; centre doorway with rendered porch with moulded pedimental gable and moulded arris to cambered arch, glazed door and panelled inner door. Flanking single-storey wings with blocked doorways at front. Sash windows with glazing bars at rear north. Later C19 brick porch on east side.
