SY6683 MILL STREET, Broadwey 873-1/8/441 (North side) Melchior and other monuments approx 3m S of east end of Church of St Nicholas

2 headstones. Early C19. Portland stone. (i) Nearer the chancel wall. to George ...., dates not deciphered. The headstone has a bold counter-curved top, and in the upper part is a low relief carving of an urn and sarcophagus, above the plain inscription panel; (ii) Immediately adjoining the last, a lofty headstone with slightly rounded top over high relief carving of military emblems. The inscription includes reference to Trumpeter Melchior and others, and the monument was erected in 1807.
