Pair of houses in row. Mid to late C19. Flemish bond brickwork, slate roof. 3 storeys, each 2 windows, all glazing-bar sashes in painted brick alternating quoins, with stone key and stone sills, with sill band to first floor; the first- and second-floor windows are 12-pane to straight flush lintels and the ground floor has wider 16-pane to cambered lintels with triple keystone. To the left of No.26 is a wide 6-panel door and moulded transom under a plain light to basket-handle head, on alternating V-joint jambs, and in bay 3 is a smaller version, with painted jambs, to No.27. There a painted stone plinth, quoins to the left end only, painted to the upper 2 floors, a thin flush band above the second-floor windows, moulded stone cornice, blocking course and coped parapet. The roof and stacks are not visible. INTERIOR: not inspected. A handsome pair, characteristic of mid Victorian practice, and unaltered in the street front.
