Listed Building: NUMBER 48 WITH ATTACHED BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEWAY (467323)

WEYMOUTH SY6677NW CHAMBERLAINE ROAD, Wyke Regis 873-1/29/630 (North side) No.48 with attached boundary wall and gateway GV II Shown on the OS map as Oban Cottage. Coach house, now detached house, with attached boundary wall and gateway. Late C18 or early C19. Painted rubble, some rendering, and ashlar to gateway, slate roof. A small gabled building in 2 storeys, 3 windows; at first floor 2-light small-pane casements in plat band surrounds to segemental heads, and thin sills. Ground floor has a small lunette to the left, then a rendered panel containing a wide segemental arch over a smaller arched tripartite sash, and a 20 door to segmental head. Gables have coped verges, and there is a small brick stack to the right. The rear has late C20 modifications. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached, to the right, in the plane of the front of the house, but with a straight joint, a length of approx 12m of rubble walling, approx 3m high, but dropped to the right over a short length of ashlar walling to weathered coping over a segmental-headed archway with door. A little altered facade which with the attached boundary wall and gateway, makes a significant contribution to the streetscape. Listing NGR: SY6608777656
