SY7083 BRIDGE INN LANE, Preston 873-1/9/460 (East side) 12/12/53 Foot bridge at SY 7029 8308, west of Roman Bridge Cottage (Formerly Listed as: PRESTON Footbridge over The River Jordan)

Also known as: Roman Bridge BRIDGE INN LANE Preston. Small footbridge over River Jordan. Possibly C16 or later, although referred to as Roman Bridge. Stone, with cobble footway. A single low segmental arch, with rough-shaped square voussoirs, carrying the footway immediately to the extrados; there are no parapets or balustrades. The bridge, of uncertain provenance, lies approx 30m N of the present main road, which is at a much higher level. It is in the garden of Roman Bridge Cottage (qv). Scheduled Ancient Monument.
