Public house. Early C19, late C19 public house frontage. Rendered, slate mansard roof, with gables exposed to the return to St Alban Street. 2 storeys, attic and basement. Two 4-pane sash late C19 dormers above an 8:12:8-pane bow oriel, with small 4-pane sash to the right. The public house frontage, which returns to the left with a splayed corner, has a high tiled breast wall, and slight fascia with cornice mould; the windows have a wide centre light with smaller side-lights, all with arched glazing bars to the heads, to each frontage, plus one wide light on the splay. A cellar access hatch in the high plinth. To the right, on 4 steps, is a door in pilasters, with an internal lobby door; a similar door on 3 steps closes the return front. The moulded cornice, blocking-course and parapet are stopped to the return, which has a high mansard gable with stack, and a smaller gable-end over a 12-pane sash at first and second floors with a plain tripartite sash to the ground floor. Built as one of a pair with No.37 (qv). INTERIOR not inspected. (RCHME: Dorset, South-East: London: 1970-: 352).
