11/101 No. 20 (The Old Bell) 26.1.56 GV II
Attached former-Bell Inn, now tea rooms. Late C16, or later. Coursed rubble-stone base to cill level, with knapped flint and chalk block walls, banded. This is rendered between first floor windows. Thatch roof. Brick stacks at left hand gable, ridge centre and right hand party wall. Two storeys: 3 windows, ground floor has 3 and 4-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions, with separate labels over. Iron casements and fixed lead lights. First floor has 3-light wooden casements with a horizontal glazing-bar and wooden cills. Front door, right of centre with depressed-arch head, plank-and-muntin door, and wooden lintel. Interior and rear wing most probably of historic importance, not inspected.
