Description
ST 3703 THORNCOMBE FORE STREET 7/107 Old Crown and attached outbuildings GV II Cottage attached at one end. C18 or earlier. Rubble walls with roughcast rendering. Thatch roof with half-hipped and gable-ends. Two brick stacks, with door to right of centre. Two storeys, 5 window-range. Casements with renewed wooden and metal frames to ground floor windows. Cl8 casements above with crown glass. Front door to porch, C20 with leaded glass quarries. C19 brick porch with pitched slate roof. Attached outbuildings with rubble walls and Roman tile lean-to roof. Source R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 248(19).
