Description

RYME INTRINSECA ST 51 SE RYME VILLAGE 1/104 Nos. 1 and 2 Manor 31.7.61 Farm Cottages, (formerly listed as British Legion Hall) GV II Former farmhouse, extended, now two attached cottages. Late C17 or early C18. Coursed rubble-stone walls, with a chamfered Ham stone plinth and plat-band. Double-Roman tile roof with stone gable-copings. C20 brick stacks at left hand gable, ridge at centre, and right hand gable. Two storeys, with cellar (no.2) and attics. 4 windows, (two regular facades placed side by side). Stone mullions, ovolo-moulded at left ground and the remainder hollow-chamfered, of 2-, 4-, 4- and 4 lights. Wooden casements to the ground floor. There are three 3-light C20 mullions, at left first floor, (no.1) with C20 metal casements. Front doorways, left centre has chamfered stone jambs and lintel, C20 stable- type door. Right centre has a stone architrave with moulded stone brackets and canopy, C18. 6-panel door , flush-and-fielded. (RCHM Dorset I, p.194(3)) Listing NGR: ST5831310861
