Refronted 1st half C18. 3-storeys. 3 windows on 2nd floor and 4 on 1st floor. Squared and coursed blue lias rubble with Ham Hill stone dressings, plinth and quoins. Sash windows with glazing bars and lugs. Doorcase (modern replica) with Ionic pilasters, entablature and pediment (see RCHM, Dorset, Vol I).
Nos 1 to 4 (consec) Monmouth Street form a group: to the west the vista is closed by Nos 6 and 6A Coombe Street.
