Description
ST 30 SW THORNCOMBE HOLDITCH COURT LANE 1/69 Holditch Court, Tower 50 metres South of Holditch Court Farmhouse 4.12.51 GV I Tower (remains of a fortified manor, R.C.H.M.). C15 Chert rubble walls with stone string courses on commer stair-turret. Open masonry shell, with projecting circular stair-turret at South-West angle, rising above the present wall-heights. Many Putlog-holes showing on external faces. Line of former spiral stair visible on inside face of turret. Scheduled Ancient Monument. Source R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 247(5).
