Description
FORDINGTON HIGH STREET 1. 5191 (North East Side) No 1 (The Old Malthouse) SY 6990 7/314 II 2 C18 or early C19. Chequer brick. Pitched slate roof. 2 storeys and attics. 3 ranges of segment-headed casements with glazing bars. 2 ranges of segment-headed blind panels. 1 flat-topped attic dormer with slate-hung cheeks and casement with glazing bars. Sliding doors. West elevation has 2 ranges of windows with glazing bars and 1 semi-circular blind panel above each. Central range has 3 planked doors (above each other), with Portland ashlar lintels (which have 3-centred arches cut into lower sides), remains of winch-hoist and semi-circular lunette above. North elevation has 4 ranges of segment-headed casements with glazing bars, 1 fixed window with glazing bars in centre of 1st floor, and segment-headed blind panel in centre of ground floor.
