Description
QUEENS AVENUE 1. 5191 Gatepiers at entrance from Weymouth Avenue. SY 6889 5/278 II 2. Circa 1900. Brick with ashlar coping and dressings. 2 principal piers have stone bands, dentilled cornice, elaborate capitals consisting of 4 consoles placed diagonally to support a ball, and cartouches with "Queens Avenue" incised on them. Linking walls to 4 subsidiary piers flanking pavement: moulded cornices, pagoda caps to ball finials.
