NEWLAND 1. 1625 (North side) 3 Cottages next to The Manor House on East Side
ST 6316 1/182 ST 6416 2/182 II GV 2.
These 3 buildings form part of a complex of buildings known locally as Gillingham Yard; no numbers have been assigned to them in the new numbering scheme. Row of 3 colourwashed rubble cottages; fronts altered Cl9. Patent pantile roof with stone slate verge at gable end. Westernmost cottage, now occupied by W R V S: 1 sash window above and another sash window to right hand below. Doorway with architrave frame, 6 panelled door, shallow fanlight. Entry to right hand leads through to gardens and to 3 other cottages; door to entry now padlocked. To right hand again, 1 gabled dormer; 2 later paired sashes with glazing bars intact both on first floor and below. Ledged door in frame at right hand end.
Digby Estate No 31, Sherborne Youth Club, East part of same range, Sherborne House, Front and rear garden walls of Sherborne House, No 41, The Manor House, 3 cottages next to The Manor House, 2 cottages adjoining, Nos 57 to 93 (odd) and north-east boundary wall to Newland Close form a group.
