MARINE PARADE 1. 1357 (North Side) The Shell Shop (The Old Watch House)
SY 3391 2/76 II GV 2.
C19 front. 2-storeys. 2 window bays. Peaked slate roof above left hand bay with parapet continuing over right hand bay. Stuccoed front. In left hand bay, wide sash window on 1st floor and modern shop front on ground floor. In right hand bay, sash window without glazing bars above; below it, a ledged door with glazed panel in lower part. In south-west return, 2 widely spaced 1st floor windows. Grade II for group value.
Nos 14 to 20 (consec), Cobb House flats, the Old Bonded Store flats and shops and the Shell Shop form a group. The Customs House, Cobb Road, partly closes the vista at the south-west end of Marine Parade.
