Description

1. 5191 SAINT ANDREW'S ROAD (West Side) Delapre House, including stable yard, garden walls and outhouses SY 4793 5/370 II 2. Early C19. Possibly 1818, since lead pump to rear is inscribed "G 1818". Stucco. Hipped slate roof. Rendered stacks. 2 storeys. Band. Modillion eaves cornice. Blocking course. Entrance front has slightly higher blocking course in centre, 2 ranges of sashes with marginal glazing bars in moulded surrounds, part-glazed doors with 2 moulded panels and oblong fanlight, Tuscan porch with 2 wooden columns and 1 casement with marginal glazing bars and moulded surround above porch. East elevation has 3 ranges of casements with glazing bars in moulded surrounds. Stable yard to rear is surrounded by coped red brick walls, and has 2 small symmetrically placed red brick coach houses with pitched slate roofs and coped gable ends. Piers at stable yard entrance with stone finials, 1 surmounted by metal eagle. Red brick garden walls all rounds elaborately ramped along north side, and returned on road side in a double curve to form an entrance. 2 small red brick outhouses in south-east corner of garden have modillion eaves cornices: 1 has pitched corrugated iron roof, the other a hipped slate roof.
