SY 59 NW POWERSTOCK WEST MILTON 11-11-1966 8/245 Tower, Remains of West Milton Chapel (formerly listed as GV II" Old Church)
Detached Tower. c.1500. Dressed stone walls. Plain tile pentice roofs. 3 stages. West elevation: Doorway with straight-chamfered jambs and depressed arch head, C20 plank door. Above, 2-light mullion window with rounded heads. Higher again, a single rectangular light, with a string-course returned over it. Small bell opening above. String-course and embattled parapet over. Tower-arch is now blocked, 2-centred,and of one continuous moulded order. Source: R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p 183(2).
